This policy describes how Zaque ("we", "us", "our") collects, uses, and protects personal information provided through our website and during our advisory engagements. We operate in Colombia and handle personal data in accordance with Ley 1581 de 2012 (Colombia's data protection statute) and its regulatory decrees.

  • Pre-session questionnaires: business description, financial summaries, and other information founders share before advisory sessions.
  • Email correspondence: any information included in messages you send to us.
  • Website usage data: pages visited, time on site, browser type, and approximate location — collected via cookies and analytics tools (see Section 6).

We do not collect sensitive personal data (health, ethnicity, political opinions, etc.) and do not knowingly collect data from persons under 18.

3. How we use your information

We use collected information to:

  • Respond to enquiries submitted through the contact form

We do not use your information for automated decision-making or profiling. We do not send unsolicited marketing emails.

Legal basis: processing is carried out on the basis of your consent (for form submissions and cookies), legitimate interest (for website analytics), and contractual necessity (for service delivery during active engagements).

4. How long we retain data

We retain personal data only as long as necessary for the purpose for which it was collected:

  • Contact form enquiries (not leading to an engagement): deleted after 12 months.
  • Active client data (session notes, documents, correspondence): retained for the duration of the engagement and for 3 years afterward for reference purposes.
  • Website analytics data: aggregated and retained for up to 24 months.

You may request deletion of your data at any time (see Section 7).

5. Data sharing with third parties

We do not sell personal data. We share information only in the following circumstances:

  • Service providers: we use third-party tools for email hosting, website analytics, and document storage. These providers process data on our behalf under data processing agreements.
  • Legal requirements: if required by Colombian law, court order, or regulatory authority.
  • Business transfers: if Zaque is involved in a merger or acquisition, personal data may be transferred to a successor entity under equivalent protection commitments.

We do not share client information with investors, other clients, or referral networks.

6. Cookies and tracking

Our website uses cookies to support basic functionality and to understand how visitors navigate the site. We use:

To exercise any of these rights, contact us at [email protected]. We will respond within 15 business days.

8. Data security

We take reasonable measures to protect personal data from unauthorized access, alteration, or disclosure. These include access controls on our systems, use of encrypted communications for sensitive document exchange, and limiting access to client information to team members directly involved in the engagement.

In the event of a data breach that affects your rights, we will notify you and, where required, the SIC within the timeframes established by applicable law.
